“Bracka Perla” offers eight astonishing suites and three rooms which have a special flare and provide comfort; their interiors inspired the artist Srećko Žitnik to create a story about the authentic flora of the Mediterranean as it once existed. The painter Srećko Zitnik graduated from a painting school in the class of the teacher Ivan Krstulović and has demonstrated his art of painting in exhibitions in his country and all around the world – from India, through the Netherlands, Switzerland, Germany and all the way to America.
Each of the painted suites contains a kitchen where you can engage in the preparation of Mediterranean delicacies using recipes from the old Dalmatian cookbooks. The living room, which is equipped with a satellite TV, wireless Internet connection and a telephone, is reserved for special moments when you might crave for news from the outside world. There are, of course, a bedroom and a bathroom for moments of rest and relaxation. The most beautiful feature which each suite has to offer is certainly the terrace or the balcony where you will, most probably, spend the most memorable moments of your holiday, watching the garden sculptures illuminated by the colours of the most beautiful sunset in the Mediterranean. Apart from the suites, for those who want to take a break from cooking, we offer three comfortable rooms, which also open their island soul to all those willing to find a moment of peace within their embrace.
Our guests` imagination will be captured also by the garden sculptures, made out of acrylic dust in various colours, dominated by yellow, light-blue and orange colours, in which the skilful hands of the sculptor recognised lemon, carob, olive, vine and flowers. The author of these magnificent sculptures is a sculptor from Split, Ante Strinić, who graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb. He is the author of numerous independent and joined exhibitions, and an award winner who decided to mould the Mediterranean plants in an abstract way, striving for the sculptural form, avoiding naturalism.
Lemon The skilful hand made an unusual blend of lemon and carob. The carob shape was used as the basis and a halved lemon fruit, coloured in blue as a reflection of the sky, was leaned against it. Blue Olive In this sculpture the leaves and the branches of a tired olive tree climb towards the sun ball. This blend is additionally intensified by the colour blue which symbolises the interfusion of earth and sky. Shoot Birth and youth as symbols of the colour green have entwined this shoot which developed from a combination of two complete opposites – a spiky cactus and a delicate flower. Grapevine The artist found the inspiration for this sculpture in his childhood memories at his grandparents` house, where he enjoyed the picking of the golden grapes. The wires used for fastening the vines make the experience even more visual by creating a subtle “graphism of forms”. Flower Bouquet Flower represents an incredible phenomenon to an artist – it denotes beauty in its absolute form. A profusion of colours and an array of forms represent a true attraction for sculpturing. Fig
A journey to his childhood and a memory of an island walk inspired this sculpture. “While my friend and I were crossing from one side of the island to the other, we became hungry and thirsty. We could barely make out a tree in the distance. Coming closer, we realised it was a fig tree, abounding in ripe fruits.”
